TDI Intro to Cave
The TDI Intro to Cave Diver course is designed for SDI Open Water Scuba Diver certified divers or equivalent who want to take the next step into the exciting and challenging world of cave diving. This course will take you beyond cave diving, teaching you the essential skills to penetrate deeper into caves, where natural light is no longer visible. With a focus on safety, advanced planning and precise control, this course prepares you to explore these unique environments with confidence and responsibility.
Course prerequisites:
- Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent
- Provide proof of TDI Cavern Diver certification or equivalent

The diving equipment you are going to use
On the TDI Intro to Cave course , you will use specialized equipment, adapted for cave diving:
- Reels and guide lines to maintain a safe route and avoid disorientation in areas of low or no visibility.
- Dual tanks (backmount or sidemount) with redundant regulators to provide additional safety and autonomy during extended dives.
- High intensity diving flashlights , essential for lighting the way and maintaining visibility in dark environments.
- Technical buoyancy compensator vest (BCD) or harness for precise control and stability underwater in tight spaces.
- Technical diving computer, which allows the management of multiple gas mixtures and facilitates the precise calculation of bottom and decompression times.
- This advanced equipment will provide you with the necessary tools to perform cave diving safely and efficiently, allowing you to enjoy the experience to the fullest.
